CHEMICALS TREATMENT FOR PRODUCED
WATER
Large quantities of water are
produced along with hydrocarbons in oil and gas fields all over the world.
Water production quantities continue to increase as the oil and gas fields
reach maturity. Produced water comes as a bi-product of petroleum production
and requires being managed efficiently. As a non-economical product, produced
water should be removed. 2 commons ways are by reinjection and by disposal to
the river or seawater. Water to be reinjected or disposed should meet some
requirements and it needs a series of process such as mechanical and chemical
treatment. This course will explain how chemicals will help the processes of
produced water treatment to meet the requirement for water reinjection or for
water disposal.
